Bitburger is one of Germany's leading private breweries. The long-established company has been successful for over 200 years as a result of its unwavering commitment to the highest quality and its openness to technological innovation. As a family business in its seventh generation, Bitburger is also devoted to its home region. Environmental and climate protection measures, alongside the careful use of natural resources, are top priorities for Bitburger.
The Bitburger brewery regularly dispatches advertising materials, which are picked and packed in-house. As part of the modernisation of the shipping department for advertising materials, the decision was made to renew the entire equipment. The client had a concrete vision in mind and knew which processes were important and where improvements should be made. The company Knüppel Verpackung GmbH & Co. KG (knueppel.de) was chosen as a competent partner for this project.
In particular, the new logistics tables needed to be durable and promote healthy working conditions; therefore, representatives from Bitburger and Knüppel quickly came upon the SYSTEM FLEX logistics tables from Rocholz GmbH. SYSTEM FLEX enables flexible packing because it is adaptable to every process and every user. FLEX is also ideal for any future processes, as the system has a modular build and can be complemented, (digitally) expanded and retrofitted at any time.
The SYSTEM FLEX packing tables for Bitburger are optimised for packing advertising materials: with a width of 1200 mm, every millimetre is used efficiently for packing. Above the resilient worktop, various adaptable shelves for the necessary work equipment and tools are incorporated. Above this, a storage rack with dividers is positioned for storing cartons. There is also space under the table for additional materials. This means that everything can be optimally integrated into the packing process.
This design creates healthy reaching spaces and zones – everything required for the packing process is carefully considered and ergonomically organised and integrated. Flexible holders for the necessary IT are also integrated into the workplace and can be pulled in and pushed away as needed using smooth-running folding arms. With this flexible equipment, everyone working at the workplace can adapt the logistics table to fit their needs and their work.
Bitburger opted for another special feature that complements the workplaces and also serves as an interface to the conveyor technology: lift tables with a roller-surface are located directly at the work tables. These form a 2-in-1 solution that promotes ergonomics with height adjustment, smooth-running rollers and operation by foot switch, as well as seamlessly connecting the packing table to the further path of the finished packages. This increases efficiency as well as ergonomics. A crush protection was added for work safety and then the customised articles were ready for use. The integration of custom-made solutions is always a special challenge that the logistics workplace professionals at Rocholz GmbH master with their experience and creativity.
