Plug-and-produce with Simple Assist
The Simple Assist System is an innovative, digital assistance system that is suitable for logistics as well as production and manufacturing areas. It is a plug-and-produce system that includes two operating units, a projector and an electrically height-adjustable packing table.
What is a plug-and-produce system?
A plug-and-produce system is an Industry 4.0 concept that makes the commissioning of production facilities or systems quick and easy. It enables the immediate integration and utilisation of devices or systems in the existing production environment without extensive configuration or programming. This method is similar to the plug-and-play principle of the computer industry, but it emphasises immediate readiness for use and a high level of user-friendliness in industrial applications.
Simple Assist is based on the powerful NUC mini PC. This automatically processes the videos created and saves the work instructions in the form of a presentation file. With Microsoft PowerPoint®, LibreOffice or OpenOffice, work instructions can be easily created by an employee at the respective packing table system, who only needs a little knowledge of how to use one of the programmes. Users can then use these to work ergonomically, independently and barrier-free with Simple Assist and digital instructions based on the PowerPoint® file.
The finished presentation is saved on a USB stick and started simply by inserting the stick into the NUC. The projector connected to the system then projects the presentation with all the work steps and information directly onto the work surface of the packing table system, providing the user with visual support. A stand-alone assistance system has been developed that can be used independently of other systems and can be set up, operated and run without IT knowledge. The system eliminates errors as it is self-explanatory and requires no training for employees.
Simple Assist helps with the increasing individualisation of products and the growing complexity of business tasks. It enables employees to perform complex and diverse tasks independently and efficiently on a single packing table system.

Focus on simple operation of the packing table system
Employees should be able to fulfil their work tasks without restrictions. For this reason, Sensrec Service UG and Rocholz placed great emphasis on ease of use when developing Simple Assist. The two control units can be used to start and stop recordings and to control and select individual work steps in an organised manner. Simple Assist is therefore much easier to operate than comparable systems.
The visual support offered by Simple Assist is particularly noteworthy. Not only can videos and images be projected onto the work surface of the packing table system, but markings for the products to be placed are also clearly recognisable on the work area. It is not only possible to record each work step individually, but also to repeat tasks step by step.
If other individual jobs follow, these can be carried out by each person in an organised sequence. With Simple Assist, markings, images and videos on the work surface provide self-explanatory instructions for the work processes. The ergonomic design of the table also makes it possible to adapt the packing table system immediately to new work orders.
People with disabilities in particular can use Simple Assist to carry out their work without any problems. The simple and ergonomic operation of Simple Assist is designed to provide them with a basis for working in normal jobs without barriers.
