Lila Ergonomie - SYSTEM FLEX for Müller | die lila Logistik

Müller | die lila Logistik offers an unrivalled range of logistics services. With around 2,300 employees and several locations, the company operates customer-orientated procurement, production and distribution logistics that ensure optimal flows of goods and information.

The striking name of the logistics service provider also embodies the company's mission statement: blue stands for thinking, red for action – together they form the purple principle, which combines consulting and implementation into a single unit.

When renewing the equipment at the Althengstett site, the aim was therefore not simply to modernise it, but to achieve equipment that is effective, sustainable and efficient – purple – through forward-looking planning and systematic implementation.

For this order, Müller | die lila Logistik was looking for a partner who was not only an expert in the field of logistics workplaces, but also followed the lila mission statement and harmonised pragmatic thinking and effective action. The choice fell on Rocholz GmbH.

The task was to design the required workstations from the ground up in such a way that they provide real relief for employees, promote motivation and are ergonomic in the long term. Because at Müller, we know that logistics doesn't start with systems or technology; it starts with people. Ergonomics was therefore not just one of many requirements – it was the central theme.

An attitude that we share out of conviction. Because for us, ergonomic design is right at the top of the list of criteria for a sustainable and efficient logistics workplace.

Following the detailed needs analysis, sketches were drawn up for the two areas to be equipped: Order processing and MCS, the process for dispatching medical consumables. At the Althengstett site, picked goods are checked and then prepared for despatch by the respective forwarders.

The main requirement was therefore ergonomics. There also had to be sufficient space for work equipment, auxiliary materials and accessories, and these had to be optimally integrated into the workflow.

Rocholz GmbH planned 13 SYSTEM FLEX packing tables, customised to the requirements of the two work areas. SYSTEM FLEX enables a highly flexible set-up of logistics workstations – individually adaptable to different processes, users and changing workflows. Flexibility is crucial, especially in dynamic logistics environments.

In this project, each desk was equipped with an electric height adjustment system that enables quick and easy ergonomic adjustment. This reduces physical strain, prevents musculoskeletal disorders, lowers sickness rates and increases efficiency in everyday working life.

In order to integrate the required printers, the Rocholz under-table pull-out shelf was chosen, which clearly separates the printing unit from the core work area on the table surface, but still skilfully integrates it into the workstation – so the core work area remains free and clear, which makes targeted work easier and promotes concentration.

Previously, the printers were housed directly on the work surface, which saved space but meant that work was cramped and the workflow could not be optimised. The interface between the accessories and the core work area often becomes a weak point, where one-sided loads and unfavourable gripping angles occur and time is lost.

With the current integration, there is a clear separation of the elements, which are nevertheless linked and coupled in such a way that healthy movements and gripping angles are promoted and the material flow is seamless.

Storage shelves, shelf dividers and articulated arms for double monitors have been integrated into the packing table in a process-orientated, ergonomic and flexible way to support a structured, efficient and fluid workflow. Ergonomics runs like a red thread through all the furnishing criteria and all processes.

The special feature of the MCS tables was an additional side shelf that docks directly onto the table and ‘travels’ with the electric height adjustment to ensure a suitable working height at all times, even when more space is required.

All elements have their well thought-out and ergonomically optimised place – with full flexibility. Thanks to a clear structure and ergonomic working, this results in a high level of employee satisfaction as well as a noticeable increase in efficiency and productivity.

The Lila principle has been clearly implemented here and Müller | lila Logistik is already planning to add further elements to the tables – which is no problem thanks to the modular structure of SYSTEM FLEX.

Thank you very much for your trust in Lila and this wonderful order!
